Celebrate - MFT Sketch 264

Hello friends!

I love the weekends! It gives me some crafty time. Today I am playing along with the My Favorite Things Card Sketch Challenge # 264:

I decided to use the London Mouse stamp set - which I love - but I decided to use some of the components in an unexpected way. I used the two trees in the stamp set as cotton candy to help create a carnival-type themed card.

I colored the cotton candy and the ferris wheel with copics and the covered them with the clear Wink of Stella glitter pen. I used two sentiments from the Delicious Birthday stamp set. I popped up the ferris wheel and added some sparkling clear sequins to finish off the card.

Mix It Up Challenge Card #2!

Hello friends!

I can't stop "Mixing It Up" over at the Essentials By Ellen Mix It Up Challenge. I just love the Essentials by Ellen products and My Favorite Things products so much!

Today I actually used three different stamp sets from My Favorite Things. The main flower images are from the Blissful Blooms set. I needed a shape to fill out the stamped wreath so I used the lone snowball from the Toasty Greetings set. I then cut apart a sentiment from the Keep on Rockin' set to pair with the "Fabulous" die from Essentials By Ellen. This awesome die was a free gift during Black Friday shopping back in November.

I stamped the flowers into a wreath shape and colored them with Peerless watercolors. I die cut the word "Fabulous" several times out of black cardstock. I then covered it with black wink of stella and lots of glossy accents. Looks so cool in person!

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you have a wonderful day!

MFT Sketch Challenge #263 - Make a Wish

Hello friends!

I am playing along with the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #263 today.

I created the background by using my MISTI to stamp the small scribble circles from the Whimsical Wishes repeatedly. I then colored them using Peerless Watercolors creating a sort of ombre look.

I used the "Wish" die from the Stars & Wishes die set and cut the stars from Lucky Stars out of silver foil paper. The "Make a" was stamped from the Count the Stars stamp set. Then entire panel is popped up using white fun foam.

Mix It Up Challenge

I am playing along with the Ellen Hutson Essentials by Ellen Mix it Up Challenge. This month is combining Essentials by Ellen products and My Favorite Things products. Two of my favorites!

Here is what I came up with today:

The stamps are from the MFT set Watercolor Flowers. The Be-YOU-tiful die is from Essentials By Ellen. I have been addicted to cutting a sentiment from a stamped back panel and popping it up. I just love the way it looks.

I created some drips with some gold shimmer spritz and used some gold foil patterned cardstock on the sides of the main panel to tie everything together.

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #261

Hello All!

I am playing with the Sketch Challenge from My Favorite Things today.

I decided to play with the adorable Birthday Bears stamp set and dies, which I have had for a while but had not used yet. I used distress inks on the background and splattered with water. I colored the images with distress inks and a water brush. I used two sizes of the Pierced Rectangle Frames Die-Namics and popped them up using foam tape.

I decided to use the popped-up inner pierced rectangle to create a shaker element.

SSS Card Kit - January 2016 (Part 1)

Hello all! Happy new year! This year's resolution - blog more!

I absolutely LOVE the January 2016 Simon Says Stamp card kit - one of my all time favorites. I love, love, love the colors in the kit!

In order to get the most out of the beautiful paper I decided to use a One Sheet Wonder template I created last year (see this post for more information). Here is the template I used:

Here is a sneak of all 12 cards I created. Today I will share the first seven cards. Come back tomorrow to see the last five!

Cards 1A & 1B:

Cards 2A & 2B:

Cards 3A & 3B (plus a bonus 3C!)

For these two cards I die cut the middle of the patterned patters and used them to create the shaker card - this stretched the beautiful paper even further!

Thanks for stopping by today! See you tomorrow for the last few cards.

We Will Miss U

Hello friends!

It is the last week of school for me! Yay! Now I will have time to fit in more crafting!

I played around with distress inks today to create a card for a co-worker who is leaving after this school year. I used a Hero Arts/Studio Calico background stamp called Alphabet Pattern and heat embossed it with white Hero Arts embossing powder on watercolor paper. I used a rainbow of distress inks to create a resist over the stamp.

I die cut all of the letter "U's" from the background - making sure to cut through a card base as well. I popped up the panel with fun foam and attached the cut out circles onto the inside of the card.

I heat embossed the "we will miss" part of the sentiment using white embossing powder onto black cardstock. I finished the card off with silver glitter enamel dots.

More Baby Party Animals

I'm back with more cards using the Simon Says Stamp Baby Party Animals stamp set and matching dies. I also used the MISTI stamping tool to create the text panels.

For this first card I stamped the word "Baby" with three different colors of pink to create an ombre look. I decided I wanted some texture on the background so I used a pink ink pad to color white embossing paste and used a Tim Holtz stencil to create the distressed dots.

This is my very first attempt at no-line coloring with copics. I'm pretty sure I need lots more practice, but I am fairly happy with my first attempt!

This second card uses the same monkey stamp - because he is just too cute! I decided to stick with complementary colors blue and orange.

I popped up the banner, monkey, and present and added some orange enamel dots to finish off the card.

That's all for today! Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome Baby

End of the school year, folks... I am not finding enough time to play in my craft room. Thank goodness summer is just around the corner!

I have a friend who is having a baby shower this weekend for I had an excuse to go play and make a card for her. I used the Simon Says Stamp Baby Party Animals stamp set and matching dies to make this fun shaker card:

I colored the stamped images with Copics - including lots of little hearts from the stamp set as part of my shaker.
