"Peas" on Earth

I have been working on making a bunch of Christmas cards lately, and I was clearly in a "punny" mood.

While making a traditional "Peace on Earth" card, I starting thinking of my Paper Smooches stamps and how adorably cheeky they are. That instantly led me to "Peas on Earth."

I used the Earth from the Space Cadet stamp set and colored with Copics. I also used a tiny smiley face from the Sugar Rush stamp set to add personality to the peas.

I used foam adhesive to add depth to the Earth and the peas. The word "Peas" was die cut and covered with glossy accents and "on Earth" was printed on the computer.

Here is another variation:

SSS August Card Kit

Today I am featuring some cards that I made using supplies from the Simon Says Stamp August card kit.

This first card uses the Moroccan stencil included in the kit. I used Versamark ink over the stencil to create a clear heat embossed area using the stencil.

I love the shine on the card that the heat embossing created! I used some of the patterned papers from the kit to create the flags and heat embossed the sentiment (also from the kit!) in black.

This next card only features the papers from the kit - but they were perfect for this adorable stamp from My Favorite Things!

I made this fun flower using die cuts and tissue paper.

Hang in There

I literally only discovered Tiddly Inks this morning. If you have not had a chance to look into these adorable digital and clear stamps, you need to!

I downloaded an adorable stamp called Wryn - Hanging Around and knew I had to play with it. I have had issues in the past of printing digital stamps and then not being able to color them with my copics because of smearing the ink. Last summer I bought a new Canon printer and realized I hadn't used it yet with digital stamps. I held my breath and printed on the best setting in grayscale. I also let it dry for about two hours before I started coloring. Success! No smearing!

I also decided to play along at SplitcoastStampers for the weekly sketch challenge.

Thanks

Today I am playing along with the Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge.

This week is an Picture Perfect challenge based on the picture below:

I took inspiration from the various shades of brown and decided to color some flowers in shades of brown. I placed them on blue cardstock to give some color to the card.

I popped one of the labels to give some dimension to the card.

Distressed Chevrons

Happy Wednesday!

I decided to play with one of my favorite techniques - distress inks to create a background. I used the "Chevron Background" stamp from Studio Calico/Hero Arts. I used a foam dauber to add the distress inks to the stamp, then spritzed the stamp with lots of water and stamped on watercolor paper. I added the rhinestones to complement the sparkling sentiment.

Large Open Flower

Happy Tuesday!

I decided to play around with one of my Hero Arts stamps; "Large Open Flower." Love this stamp and how it can be colored in so many different ways.

This first card was colored with copics. I wanted to make a CAS card where the flower would be the focal point. I added the sentiment on vellum.

This second card I heat embossed and watercolored with distress inks in "Worn Lipstick." I popped the panel off the card with foam tape and tied the ribbon to add softness.
